ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed proposals will be received by Cullman County Commisison on Education at offices located at 402 Arnold Street, N.E. Cullman, Alabama until 10:00 a.m. CST December 2, 2014 Cullman County Schools BID#46-14 for the Construction of a Concession and Press Box Building on the campus of Good Hope School. The two story building to be constructed of CMU and wood is approximately 600 sq. ft. on the first floor concession area with restrooms and approximately 500 sq. ft. for the second floor for the press box area with storage. This is a locally funded project. at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Cullman County Commisison on Education in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Bid Documents may be obtained from the Architect for a non-refundable fee of $25/CD for CD with drawings and specifications in PDF format. Drawings and specifications may be examined at the office of Architect, Leonard Design P.C. 101 First Avenue N. E., Suite 140, Cullman, Alabama 35055 and (appropriate plan room; i.e., Reed Construction Data). The General Contractor will provide a GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S ROOFING GUARANTEE in addition to any other roof related warranties or guarantees that may be specified in the Contract Documents, the roof and associated work shall be guaranteed by the General Contractor against leaks and defects of materials and workmanship for a period of five (5) years, starting on the Date of Substantial Completion of the Project as stated in the Certificate of Substantial Completion. The Owner has elected to have General Contractors pre-qualified for bidding on this Project. Only general contractors, that have installed five (5) projects of similar scope and magnitude that have been in service for minimum of 2 years with satisfactory performance of the entire roof system, and who have been approved to bid pursuant to prequalification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid for the Project. Written prequalificaitons procedures and criteria are available for review at the office of Leonard Design P.C., 101 First Avenue N. E. Suite 140, Cullman, Alabama. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the construction site Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. CST Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect (Engineer) or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect (Engineer); the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the owner's judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
