CITY OF DUNCAN BID ADVERTISEMENT FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS 14-15, Part I Notice is hereby given that the City of Duncan (Owner) will receive sealed bids at the City Clerks Office, 720 W. Willow (Mailing Address: P. O. Box 969, Duncan, Oklahoma, 73534) until 1:30 on the 7th day of January ,2015, for STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS 14-15, Part I. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the City Clerks Office. Bids received after the closing time will not be considered. Bidders are invited to be present when the bids are opened. Minority and small business owners are encouraged to submit bid proposals. Bid documents and copies of specifications may be obtained from the Public Works Director, 1220 ML King, Duncan, Oklahoma. A non-refundable fee of $50.00 for each bid packet is payable to the City of Duncan upon request for the packet. A MANDATORY pre-bid conference will be held in the Conference Room, Public Works Administration Building,1220 M. L. King Blvd, Duncan, Oklahoma on December 30, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Bids submitted by firms not represented at the pre-bid conference will not be considered and will be returned unopened. A cashiers check or a certified check on a solvent bank in Oklahoma or a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall accompany the proposal of each bidder. The check or bond shall be made payable to the City of Duncan. All checks or bonds will be returned to unsuccessful bidders. This check or bond shall be as a guarantee of contractors ability to perform the contract bid upon, and that he will enter into a written contract with the Owner to perform said work and/or furnish said materials in accordance with said specifications and furnish the required bonds within fifteen (15) business days after the acceptance of his bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the closing date for the receipt of bids. Performance, Maintenance and Statutory Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price each with a Corporate Surety licensed in Oklahoma and approved by the Owner will be required for the faithful performance of the contract, and the bidder shall state in the proposal the name and address of the Surety or Sureties who will sign this bond in case the contract is awarded to him. Copies of acceptable bond forms are included in this packet. A Maintenance Bond guaranteeing the repair of all damage due to improper materials or workmanship for a period of one (1) year after the acceptance of the work by the Owner will be required. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities in any bid, and to award a contract or contracts to the bidder(s) who, in the opinion of the Owner, offer proposals in the best interest of the public. The Owner reserves the right to reject or award the Base Bid and Alternate Bids in any combination, subject to conditions contained in the Special Provisions.
