Warrior Run School District NOTICE OF INTENT TO SEEK ACT 1 REFERENDUM EXCEPTIONS The Pennsylvania Department of Education, in accordance with the Pennsylvania Taxpayer Relief Act (Act 1 of Special Section 2006), publishes an index applicable to the School District and has limited the Warrior Run District's real estate tax increase for the 2015/2016 fiscal year to 2.6% unless the voters approve a ballot question for a tax rate that exceeds the index or the School District qualifies for referendum exception(s) specified in the Act. The School District is eligible for one or more of the exceptions listed in Act 1. Notice is hereby given that the Warrior Run School District intends to seek approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Education or the local Court of Common Pleas for the referendum exceptions allowed under the Act. The Department of Education or the local Court of Common Pleas may schedule a hearing on this matter. Notice of the hearing, if held, will be provided in advance by the School District. If the exception application is approved, the funds generated by the tax increase may be used by the School District to balance its preliminary and final budgets. The School District's preliminary budget is available for public inspection at the School District Business Office located at 4800 Susquehanna Trail, Turbotville, Pennsylvania during normal business hours between 7:45 a.m and 3:45 p.m. Upon written request by any School District resident or taxpayer, the School District will provide a copy of the referendum exception application.
