(First Published February 8, 2015) BID ADVERTISEMENT Notice is hereby given that the Director of Public Works of the City of Joplin, Missouri, will accept sealed bids for the following improvements in the City of Joplin, Missouri: ZORA WIDENING HIGHVIEW AVE. TO MISSOURI AVE. This work consists of widening and resurfacing the existing pavement to 5 lanes and installation of storm sewers. Specifications are on file in the office of the Director of Public Works located at City Hall, 602 S. Main Street. Bids must be in the hands of said Director of Public Works before 11:00 A.M. on the 3rd day of March, 2015, at which time bids will be opened by the Director of Public Works at the Joplin City Hall, 602 S. Main Street, Joplin MO 64801 in the 4rd Floor Engineering Conference Room. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will take place on Monday, February 23, 2015 starting at 10:00 a.m. in the 5th floor study of Joplin City Hall. Specifications will follow the latest City of Joplin Standards. Main Street, 4th floor Engineering Department. Bona fide general contractors may secure copies of the proposed Contract Documents from the office of the Director of Public Works. Second tier subcontracting will not be permitted on this project. It will be the responsibility of the contractor that his subcontractors do not in turn subcontract any portion of the work. The prime contractor on this project must perform with its own organization not less than 30% of the total original contract price. The prevailing wage rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and are set forth in the construction specifications and are to be considered as a part of this Notice to Contractors. The bid will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. No preference shall be given to contractors for business location. Payment for this project will be made to the contractor in cash. The Director of Public Works reserves the right to reject any or all bids. (224)
