SOUTH KORTRIGHT CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Notice of Annual Meeting, Budget Vote and Election Notice is hereby given that the Annual Budget Hearing for the inhabitants of South Kortright Central School District will be held at the School building in said District on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 7:00 pm in Harbaugh Hall. NOTICE is also given that the Annual School Budget Vote and Election of Member of the Board of Education for those qualified to vote in said District will be held at the school building in said District on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 between the hours of 12:00 pm and 8:00 pm for the transaction of such business as is authorized by the Education Law. AND FURTHER NOTICE is also given that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required to fund the School District budget for 2015-2016, and the tax exemption report may be obtained by any resident of the District during business hours fourteen (14) days immediately preceding the budget hearing at the South Kortright Central School main office. AND FURTHER NOTICE is also given that petitions nominating a candidate for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the Clerk of the District not later than 5:00 pm on Monday, April 20, 2015. The following position becomes open on the Board of Education: The five year term currently being held by Debra Coager is expiring. Each petition must be directed to the Clerk of the District and shall be signed by at least 25 voters of the District, and must state the name and residence of the candidate. As of April 1, 2015 petitions will be obtainable at the South Kortright Central School main office between the hours of 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. AND FURTHER NOTICE is hereby given that applications for absentee ballots will be obtainable between the hours of 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Monday through Friday, except holidays, from the District Clerk. Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. Absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk not later than 5:00 pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. A list of persons to whom absentee voters' ballots have been issued will be available for inspection to qualified voters of the District in the office of the District Clerk between the hours of 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on weekdays and on May 19, 2015, the day set for the election, and said list will be present in the polling place at the election. Any qualified voter present in the polling place may object to the voting of the ballot upon appropriate grounds for making his/her challenge and the reasons therefore known to the inspector of Election before the close of the polls.
