TAPAA-TA13(937) CITY OF HANCEVILLE, ALABAMA Sealed bids for SIDEWALKS TO SCHOOLS (along Blountsville Street N.E., Stadium Street ,Dean Avenue N.E., Hughes Drive N.E., and College Drive N.E.) for the City of Hanceville, Alabama will be received until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at City Hall in Hanceville located at 112 Main Street S.E., Hanceville, AL 35077 and at said time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The principal items of work are approximately as follows: Approximately 4,400 LF of sidewalk addition. The entire project shall be completed in 60 working days. The bracket estimate for the work is $125,000 to $175,000. Plans and specifications are on file for viewing at the City of Hanceville and at the office of Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood in Birmingham. All bid sets must be purchased from Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc.’s Birmingham office. Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND PLANS may be obtained at the office of Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. at 2701 First Avenue South, Suite 100, Birmingham, AL 35233 upon payment of $75.00 for each set. Said cost represents the cost of printing, reproduction, handling, and distribution, therefore no refund will be granted. No partial sets, individual pages or drawing sheets will be provided. The bidder's proposal should be submitted on the complete original proposal form furnished by Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. A certified check drawn on an Alabama bank or bid bond for 5% of bid (Maximum - $10,000.00) made payable to the City of Hanceville must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. The proposed work shall be performed in conformity with the rules and regulations for carrying out the Federal Highway Act. The Alabama Department of Transportation, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, U.S.C. 20000D to 20000D-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, or natural origin in consideration for an award. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, or to reject any or all bids, and to award the contract to the lowest and most responsible bidder. All bidders must comply with Code of Alabama, Title 39 – Public Works Bid Law and requirements of the Contractor's Licensing Law of the State of Alabama and be certified for the type of work on which the proposal is submitted. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the opening thereof. All bids should be submitted in the Contract Specifications Book as issued by the Engineer and shall be issued on the Bid Proposal Form contained therein.
