MORRIS CENTRAL SCHOOL ANNUAL SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET HEARING and BUDGET VOTE PROPOSITION #1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the annual Budget Hearing of the inhabitants of Morris Central School District No. 1, Towns of Morris, New Lisbon, Pittsfield and Laurens, et al, Otsego County, will be held at the school library in said District on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the Annual School Budget Vote and Election of Members to the Board of Education for those qualified to vote in said District, will be held at the school in said District, main entrance lobby, on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, between the hours of 12 noon and 8:00 p.m. For the transaction of such business as is authorized by Education Law. Parking in the bus loop will not be available from 2:40 p.m. To 3:10 p.m. due to student dismissal. NOITICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuring year for school purposes exclusive of public monies, and the Tax Exemption Report may be obtained by any taxpayer in the District during the fourteen days immediately preceding the annual meeting, except Saturday, Sunday or holidays, at the Morris Central School District Office, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.- 1:30 pm to 3:30 p.m. PETITIONS nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the Clerk of the district, Judy Matson, not later than the 30th day prior to the school meeting at which candidates so nominated are to be elected. The deadline date for filing is Monday, April 20, 2015. 3 year term standing on July 1, 2015 ending on June 30, 2018, vacant seat, presently held by Gary Norman. EACH petition must be directed to the Clerk of the District, must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) voters of the district, must state the residence of each signer, must state the name and residence of the candidate, and must describe the specific vacancy for which the candidate is nominated, including at least the length of the term of office and the name of the last incumbent. Petitions may be obtained for the District Office during school hours between now and Friday, April 17, 2015. Applications for absentee ballots may be applied for at the District office. The District clerk must receive such applications at least seven days before the vote set in this notice if the ballot is to be mailed to the absentee voter or the day before the vote if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the absentee voter. Absentee ballots must be received in the office of the Clerk of the District not later than 5:00 p.m. On the date of the Vote. A list of all persons to whom absentee voters' ballots have been issued shall be available for public inspection during regular office hours, which are between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Any qualified voter may challenge the list upon examination of such list, stating the reasons for the challenge. Such list shall be posted during the election, and any qualified voter may challenge the acceptance of the absentee voters' ballots or a person on such list, by making this challenge and the reason for the challenge known to the inspectors of election before the close of the polls. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that any person, otherwise qualified to vote, who is currently registered for any general election, pursuant to Section 2015 of the Education Law.
