____________________________________ LEGAL NOTICE ____________________________________ Resolution 012014 Notice of Election Town of Roff, Oklahoma BE IT RESOLVED by the governing body of the Town of Roff that for the purpose of electing officers of said town that: A nonpartisan special election shall be held on Tuesday, April 1st, 2014, 7am-7pm at Roff City Hall. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following officer(s) will be elected for a term as depicted below: TRUSTEE: WARD 5 (for the remaining of the 2011-2015 term) BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each candidate for the office of Trustee from a ward must be a qualified elector and a resident of the ward for a period of six months immediately prior to filing a declaration of candidacy. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that candidates for the office of Trustee will be elected, at large, by the qualified electors of the entire Town of Roff. The candidate from each ward with the most votes from the at large electorate, shall be elected to represent his or her respective ward. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any person may have his or her name placed on teh ballot by filing with the secretary of the Pontotoc County Election Board during the filing period as follows: Filing period shall open at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, the 3rd day of February, 2014 and extend through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the 5th day of February, 2014. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that electors residing in this Town who are registered as required by law, may vote in Town elections, each qualified elector of the Town shall be entitled to vote for on candidate for Trustee from the ward. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that absentee baillots will be provided in accordance with state law. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Election Board shall conduct such election pursuant to Oklahoma Statutes.
