NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS OWNER: City of Effingham, Effingham, Illinois PROJECT: CIPS Lake Spillway Repair ENGINEER: Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc., Springfield, Illinois Separate, sealed proposals (Bids) from bidders who can demonstrate successful experience in contracting work of similar scope and cost, will be received by the City Clerk of The City of Effingham at 201 East Jefferson Avenue, Effingham, Illinois 62401-0648, until 2:00 pm local time, February 10, 2015, for the above Project a which time Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any Bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. The work includes, but is not limited to: removal and replacement of damaged areas of the spillway walls, installation of a toe wall, installation of a drain gutter, shotcreting all walls, miscellaneous site work and all other items required in accordance with the plans and specifications. The successful bidder shall be required to agree that not less than the greater prevailing rate of wages in THE ILLINOIS PREVAILING WAGE ACT and EMPLOYMENT OF ILLINOIS WORKERS ON PUBLIC WORKS ACT (30 ILCS 570, INSOFAR AS THE ACT APPLIES) will be paid to all workers, laborers, and mechanics performing their work under this contract as required by Document 00820 - Prevailing Wages and Document 00821 - Employmen of Illinois Workers. Bidders are required to qualify to the requirements in Document 00200 - Instructions to Bidders. The Contract Documents may be examined at the offices of the OWNER or ENGINEER. Copies may be obtained by contractors, material suppliers and plan rooms from the offices of Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. at 2750 West Washington Street, Springfield, Illinois 62702-3465; telephone (217) 787-8050 upon the payment of Fifty Dollars and No Cents ($50.00) for each set, which shall be NON-REFUNDABLE. Each separate bid will be required to remain open for a period of Sixty (60) days after bids are opened. Each separate bid must be accompanied by certified check or bank cashier’s check payable to the OWNER, or a bid bond, duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company meeting the requirements as referenced in the Instructions to Bidders in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid. A PRE-BID MEETING will be held as specified in Document 00250 - Pre-Bid Meeting. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Meeting by a prospective bidder is strongly recommended, but not mandatory. All proposals must be made on forms furnished by the ENGINEER. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bond satisfactory to the OWNER in the amount of one-hundred percent (100% of the contract amount.
